things i'm trying to do to stay warm in heart, body and soul:
-eating citrus food, makes me feel like it's summer
-filling my house with bright flowers
-surrounding myself with brighter, spring-ish colors
-watching summer/spring movies (think Secret Garden)
-dreaming of taking a vacation to some place exotic and warm before the baby comes (did i mention i'm pregnant on this blog yet? nope? well we are :)
-listening to jack johnson and the beach boys
-focusing on bright and fun things like Valentine's Day (and my upcoming b-day) to take my mind off the inversion
-and finally, counting down the days until spring weather is usually around in SLC (which fyi is around April, but then again it's SLC so you really never know)
these are the things i've found to help me out of the gloom that is january/february.
hope it helps for anyone feeling the winter blues!

six years and counting
dec. 29
{this is rather late to post but better late than never}
Dave and I celebrated our six year anniversary on December 29th. I think most people, because we don't have children yet, think that we're newly weds, especially in our new ward, but we're not. Six wonderful years we've been together and loving life. This last anniversary fell on a Wednesday and Dave and I decided to both take the day off. First experienced our first massages at a place in Orem (we got a smashing deal thanks to Groupon.com!), and had a great time.
Next we decided to go to where it all began, where we met. And that ladies and gentlemen would be the BYU library, yes, that's right. The library. It was kind of a ball walking all around the old campus again. Lots of good memories there. We got some delicious Valentine's candy at the BYU bookstore (yes they were selling it that quickly after Christmas). While we were visiting the business building a storm took us by surprise. It was a crazy storm! We still had to eat dinner in Provo at a little place that I love but we were nervous about the weather. Decided to brave it and go to dinner anyway.
So that leads us to De Mae a delicious little hole in the wall place on Main Street in Provo where I tried sushi for the first time in college (and it's kind of the only place I will eat sushi because I'm not that adventurous). Dave does not like sushi at all, so he decided to get some pimped out ramen soup instead.
After dinner it was still snowing quite a bit so Dave thought we should wait it out. We decided to see the movie True Grit which we quite enjoyed, except for the last 5 minutes, rather depressing ending.
It was a great, relaxing day. The perfect way to spend our sixth year anniversary.
Love you hon! Here's to many more!

the reception.
le jardin.
at the reception center, Addison trying to get into "the zone" before the reception begins.
obviously having a great time, even before the reception started.
everyone helping to set up the center pieces prior to the reception.
those are pin wheels that i made to put in the vases.
me with the bridesmaid's flowers.
the siblings.
the ONLY picture I got of the couple as they left the reception in a whirlwind.
it all happened too fast! ha. but i kind of like it.

Who's ready for spring?! Raise yo hand!
I'm sooooooo beyond ready. This cold weather and inversion are killing me. I might already have started watching summer shows so I can imagine myself in warmer weather. Who wants to take a Caribbean cruise with me? I could go tomorrow, I could go tonight. I would leave this instant.
One of my adorable old lady clients was telling me how for 40 years she and her family would go to BYU Hawaii where she would teach during the spring term (jan-march). Some people get all the luck. Maybe I should have become a teacher of sorts and done the same thing. Maybe Dave and I should just move there permanantly because I just can't handle this cold weather anymore. Maybe you all should come visit.
Maybe in another life.... or this one, you never know.
Sigh.... anyone for watching Oklahoma with me? I'm down with another summer movie if you want. Just let the winter end. Please.
