labor day weekend - saturday night

Cute 'lil nephew Jimmy. Yeah that was an apple from off the ground...

Hayls and I.

The finished product.

My sister Mylissa, who lives in Heber knows all the fun things to do there. She found out about this old orchard that used to be a pioneer farm but is now a public park up in the mountains. Back in the day these pioneers started the orchard and a farm and now they allow you to go up there and pick as many apples as you want. I've actually never picked apples before so I loved it. I felt very much like I was living in Anne of Green Gables :D. The activity was very fall-ish which made me sad... don't get me wrong, I like fall and all but I absolutely love summer. I actually think I just love NOT being cold all the time. But being up in the mountains and picking those sweet smelling apples made me excited for cider. So bring on the fall! (in like a month or so please).

labor day weekend - favorite tent

My favorite sign, that I'm actually sad I didn't buy.

The sign my sis Myliss got (we're Parkites - yes, that's how you say that, and yes, totally cheesy).

This was the coolest tent at Swiss Days. These guys actually make their own vintage signs, like create the pattern and everything and I'm a big fan of all things vintage so of course I loved them. So if any of you are in the market check out http://www.redhorsesigns.com/.

labor day weekend - saturday

I have to say I love, love, love Midway and Heber. My parent's moved there last year and I wasn't thrilled about it but I do actually love the place. It's so gorgeous and refreshing.

Some random something on the way to Swiss Days that I thought was cute (I think it's an old gas pump).

These were dang cute.

Dave really enjoyed Swiss Days, mostly because he stayed at home and I didn't force him to come. I have to say it was so terribly crowded this year. We went from 10:30-12pm and it was like going to Disneyland on New Year's Eve. Don't do it. Ever. Advice for next year: don't go until like 5pm when the crowds have died down.

The true reason I go to Swiss Days? If you can't tell that collage is all just about what my friend Hayley and I ate that day.....gross? No, it was really good actually ;D I just won't put it all in detail to really gross you out.

labor day weekend - friday night

Jenn, one of my bff's from high school, and I. Isn't she gorgeous?

A new restaurant to try out.

The garden outside was cute and quaint.

The food was pretty good too.

We did so much this weekend that I thought I would post it one day at a time - I have too many pictures for one post ;D Friday night we met up with some great old friends of ours, Jenn and Russ, and tried out a new restuarant, The Blue Iguana. I loved the hispanic hole-in-the-wall ambiance of the place. They even had live entertainment by two girls and a cute old man playing the guitar and they were fabulous. It's downtown right under Benihana if anyone wants to try it out sometime.
